Train with your friends

FORMA Friends is a free way to train with people you already know. Add someone with a short friend code and you each see the other's completed workouts — the exercises, sets and reps — plus a weekly leaderboard of volume lifted. Train with a crew rather than one partner and you can start a group instead, with its own leaderboard and a shared challenge. You can message the people you have added, and only those people. There is no follower count and no feed of strangers: just the few people who will notice when you skip.

What you get

How it works

  1. Create a free account. Friends need an account so your workouts can sync between devices. It's free and takes a moment.
  2. Swap codes. Share your friend code, or type in the one a friend sent you. Adding a friend connects you both ways.
  3. Train as normal. Every workout you finish and log shows up for your friends — you don't post anything.
  4. Check in on each other. Open Friends to see their recent workouts, the week's leaderboard, and how you're doing against your accountability partner.

Groups and challenges

Friends is one-to-one. If you train with a crew rather than a training partner, the Groups tab does the same job for a named set of people, with a leaderboard and a shared feed of its own.

Frequently asked questions

Is FORMA Friends free?

Yes. Adding friends, the workout feed, the weekly leaderboard and the accountability partner are all free — you just need a free FORMA account so your workouts sync. There's no card and no premium tier for any of it.

What can my friends actually see?

Only workouts you've finished and logged: the workout's name, how many sets it took, how long it lasted, your total volume for the session, and each exercise with its sets and reps. They can't see the weight you used on an individual lift, your bodyweight, your food log or anything else in your account.

How do I add a friend?

Open Friends and you'll see your own friend code. Send it to someone, or type theirs into the box and tap Add. One of you entering the other's code connects you both — there's no request to accept.

How do I stop sharing my workouts with someone?

Remove them from your friends list and the sharing stops in both directions immediately. Because they might still have your old code, there's a refresh button next to it that generates a new one — the old code stops working the moment you do.

What's the difference between friends and groups?

Friends is one-to-one: you swap codes with someone and see each other's workouts. A group is a named set of people — a gym crew, a few mates, a training club — with its own join code, its own leaderboard and its own activity feed. You can be in both, and joining a group doesn't make you friends with everyone in it.

How do group challenges work?

Whoever created the group can set one challenge at a time. It's either a total volume for the whole group to lift, or a number of sessions each person should hit, over a week or a month. Everyone sees a progress bar that fills as the group trains, built from the workouts people have already logged — nobody has to report anything.

Is there a public feed or chat?

No. There are no strangers, no followers and no public comments. You only ever see the workouts of people whose code you swapped, and there is no public profile for anyone to find. You can send private messages, but only to people you have already connected with — nobody can start a conversation with you out of the blue, and you can block or report anyone from inside a chat.

Do I have to add friends to use FORMA?

No. Everything else — the workout builder, Form Check, Food Scan, the exercise guides and the calculators — works on its own. Friends is there for people who train better when someone else is watching.
