What you get
- Live GPS tracking in your browser — no install needed, works as an app too.
- Route draws itself on a dark map with live distance, time, pace and estimated calories.
- Run and walk modes, with pause, resume and finish like a real tracker.
- Finish turns your route into a story or square share card with FORMA branding.
- Private by design: routes are saved as a shape only — absolute GPS coordinates are never stored.
- Free. Tracking needs no account; a free account syncs your history across devices.
Frequently asked questions
Is Stride free?
Yes. Tracking, the live map and the share card are all free, and you don't need an account to track an activity. A free account adds one thing: your history syncs across devices instead of living on one phone.
Does FORMA store my GPS location?
No. Your position is processed on your device, and if you save an activity, only the shape of the route is stored — relative distances from your start point, not coordinates. Nobody can look up where you ran from your saved history.
How accurate are the distance and calorie numbers?
Distance comes from your phone's GPS with filtering to remove jitter, so it's close but not surveyor-precise — tall buildings and tree cover reduce accuracy. Calories are an estimate from your distance and activity type. Treat both as training feedback, not medical measurements.
Can I share my run to Instagram or WhatsApp?
Yes. Finishing an activity generates a share card — a story format for Instagram or a square post — with your route, distance, time and pace. On your phone, the share button opens the native share sheet so it goes straight into any app; you can also save the image or copy a ready-made caption.
